The Women’s Resource Center has walked alongside women in West Michigan for more than 50 years — but right now, we need to reset, rebuild, and recommit. The past couple of years have been a season of transition, marked by leadership changes and challenges that stretched our organization. Those bumps in the road have not gone unnoticed. Yet each one has sharpened our resolve. With fresh leadership and renewed energy, we’re returning to what matters most: building strong programs, lifting up women’s stories, and recommitting to the work that changes lives.
She’s the Why is our boldest campaign yet: $100,000 in 100 days to strengthen our programs, amplify women’s voices, and transform communities.
Every woman is the “why.” Whether she’s a mother, daughter, colleague, or one of the women walking through our doors — investing in women changes lives, families, and futures.

Every number below represents a woman, a story, and a step toward transformation. In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and partners, WRC delivered measurable impact across West Michigan:
- 567 Women Served — each receiving tailored support to move toward career and life goals.
- 91% of Job-Ready Participants Secured Employment — turning preparation into real opportunities.
- 3,242 Individual Coaching Sessions — one-on-one guidance tailored to each participant’s needs.
- 765 In-Jail Classes — reaching women at a critical point in their reentry journey.
- 167 Goals Achieved — milestones such as employment, education, and financial stability.
- Over $54,000 in Financial Assistance — helping women overcome barriers like transportation, childcare, and training costs.
- $8,938 in Scholarships — directly supporting career training and certification programs.
